What we collect

  • Enquiries. When you fill in a form, call or email us, we collect your name, phone number, email address, postcode or project location, and the details you give us about your job.
  • Phone calls. If we can't answer, an automated call-answering service may take your name, number and a description of what you need, and send us a summary.
  • Customer work. If you become a customer, we keep the information needed to carry out and certify the work, such as your address, site details, test results and certificates.
  • Business contacts. For supply chain and pre-qualification enquiries, we collect the contact details of the people we deal with at your organisation.

How we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry, arrange a survey and send you a quote.
  • To carry out, certify and register the work, including notifying building control and your network operator where required.
  • To provide aftercare, warranties and reminders you've asked for, such as when an inspection is due.
  • To meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations.

We don't sell your information, and we don't send marketing emails unless you've agreed to receive them.

Our lawful basis

We use your information to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, such as quoting, and to perform our contract with you. We rely on our legitimate interests to run our business and keep records of enquiries, and on legal obligation where the law requires us to keep records, for example electrical certification and tax records.

Who we share it with

We only share information where needed to do the work or run the business, including:

  • Building control and our competent person scheme, NAPIT, to register notifiable electrical work.
  • Your local electricity network operator, for solar, battery and EV charger installations.
  • Service providers who help us run the business, such as our website host, email and phone providers, and accounting software.
  • Our insurers, accountants and professional advisers, where needed.

Some service providers may store data outside the UK. Where they do, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that don't go ahead: up to 2 years.
  • Customer, certification and job records: for as long as needed for warranties, safety and legal purposes, normally at least 6 years after the work.
  • Accounting records: as long as tax law requires.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to ask us to transfer it. Some rights depend on our reason for using the information, and we may need to keep certain records by law. To make a request, contact us using the details above. We'll respond within one month.
