How we work
One contractor, one programme
Most car park schemes need an electrician, a groundworker and often a structural repair contractor, each with their own programme. We do all three, so there's one point of contact and nothing falls between trades.
Our civil engineering work on car parks and highway structures means we're used to live sites: phased closures, traffic management, permits and members of the public close by.

FAQs
Common questions
Can the car park stay open while you work?
Yes. We phase the work by zone or deck, with barriers, signage and traffic management, so most spaces stay in use. Noisy or disruptive work can be planned for quieter times or overnight.
Do you also repair the car park structure?
Yes. Through McCance Group we carry out concrete repairs, expansion joint replacement, deck waterproofing and anti-skid surfacing, so structural repairs and electrical upgrades can be programmed together.
Can you upgrade car park lighting to LED?
Yes. We replace column, deck and canopy lighting with LED fittings and add controls such as dimming and presence detection, which cuts energy use and maintenance.
Can you provide power for barriers, ANPR cameras and pay machines?
Yes. We install the ducting, supplies and distribution for barriers, ANPR and CCTV cameras, pay stations and signage, and work alongside your equipment supplier.
Do you work for councils and public bodies?
Yes. McCance Construction Ltd holds Constructionline Gold and SSIP accreditation, and we're used to council procurement, permits and reporting requirements.
Which areas do you cover?
We're based in East Grinstead and work across Sussex, Surrey, Kent and London, and take on larger car park schemes UK-wide.
