About McCance Power
Electricians with a civil engineering contractor behind them
McCance Power is run by Alistair McCance, a NAPIT-registered electrician and the director of McCance Group, a civil engineering contractor working on highways, bridges and car parks. That combination lets us take on the groundworks and the electrics under one contract.
Meet Alistair McCance
Alistair McCance is the director of McCance Construction Ltd, the company behind McCance Group and McCance Power. He is a qualified electrician, registered with NAPIT for electrical installation and inspection, and an experienced civil engineering site manager with an NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management.
His civil engineering work covers highway structures, bridges and car parks: concrete repairs, bridge expansion joints, waterproofing, drainage, foundations and piling. He is also training for ICorr accreditation in cathodic protection, which protects steel in concrete and marine structures from corrosion.
That background is why McCance Power can take on jobs that most electrical contractors subcontract out: trenching and ducting for car park EV chargers, plant bases and cable routes for data centres, and electrical work at marinas and ports.

Why it matters
One contractor for civils and electrics
Fewer gaps between trades. On a car park charging scheme, the trenching, ducting, bases, cabling and chargers are planned and delivered by one team, so nothing falls between a groundworker and an electrician.
Experience of live, public sites. We're used to working on highways, bridges and open car parks, with traffic management, permits and members of the public close by.
Access to high-level work. With IRATA rope access, IPAF and PASMA, we can install, inspect and test high-level electrics without always needing scaffolding.
How we work
- Fixed quotes. We tell you the price before we start, and quote any extra work separately before doing it.
- Certified work. As NAPIT members we issue electrical installation certificates and notify Building Control for you.
- Safety and compliance. McCance Construction Ltd holds Constructionline Gold and SSIP accreditation, and we prepare risk assessments and method statements for every job.
- Live job reporting. On larger schemes, progress, photos, inspections and sign-offs are recorded on a digital job reporting system, so you can follow the work in real time.
