How we work
Built around patients and clinical time
In a dental practice or surgery, every hour of downtime is cancelled appointments. We plan work out of hours, over weekends or room by room, so clinics keep running.
We keep dust and disruption to a minimum in clinical areas, agree isolations with your practice manager in advance, and hand over certificates and test results in a form ready for your compliance file.

FAQs
Common questions
What electrical checks does a dental practice need for its CQC inspection?
Inspectors look for evidence that the premises and equipment are safe. That usually means a satisfactory fixed wiring report (EICR), emergency lighting test records and portable appliance testing. We carry out the testing and give you the certificates in a form ready for your records.
What is HTM 01-05 and how does it affect the electrics?
HTM 01-05 is the Department of Health guidance on decontamination in primary care dental practices. Decontamination rooms need suitable dedicated supplies for washer-disinfectors, autoclaves and ventilation, which we design and install alongside your equipment supplier.
Can you work outside clinic hours?
Yes. We regularly plan testing and installation for evenings and weekends, or work room by room, so appointments aren't cancelled.
What is a medical location?
Rooms where patients are examined or treated using medical electrical equipment are classed as medical locations under Section 710 of the wiring regulations. Depending on the procedures carried out, they need extra protection and, in some areas, specialist supply arrangements. We assess each room and design to the right group.
Do you work on NHS sites?
Yes, through main contractors and directly. McCance Construction Ltd holds Constructionline Gold and SSIP accreditation, and we work to main contractors' safety and documentation standards.
Which areas do you cover?
We're based in East Grinstead and cover Sussex, Surrey, Kent and London, and take on larger healthcare projects UK-wide.
